Merry Christmas! I hope you find what you desire . . .
Under the Tree
Though the world sleeps
In gaudy unremembrance
The still, small voice
Becomes an infant’s chance
To startle us to cry,
Out, out, out
Of ourselves
From the starlight
Of the sky
And so deliver us
from our denials cold,
By the gift of lasting gold,
And relieve us of our bitterness
Annointed now by frankincense
Embalmed by this winter
In the wrap of myrrh
This Holy Exchange
Of God for man
That bedazzles kings
And leads the wise
To trust all things
Which are not necessary
That I understand.

”Not many sleeps til that sweet day creeps,
close beside us unhidden…and the Christ it represents may enter our hearts causing us to delight unbidden.”
